The Tzedakah Project respects your privacy, and we are committed to protecting it. The following policy presents an overview of how we collect, store and manage your private information.

Collection and Storage of Personal Information

The Tzedakah Project collects information that is necessary for becoming a donor, volunteer, or other participant, including full name, address, phone number and email address. Donor information is stored in a password-protected database.

Use of Personal Information

Personal information is used primarily for purposes related to donations, volunteer opportunities, and communication. We use mailing addresses to send information related to The Tzedakah Project events or donation receipts.

The Tzedakah Project never rents or sells member information.

If you provide an email address it will be added to our listserv. The listserv is managed in-house and we never exchange, rent or sell email addresses. If you do not wish to be on the listserv, please notify us and we will honor your request.

The Tzedakah Project publishes the names and membership levels of donors in our Annual Report. The Annual Report is distributed to all members of the organization. If you wish to be anonymous in the listing, please notify us and we will honor your request.

 

Credit Card Security

We use outside credit card processing companies to process online credit card transactions for goods and donations. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. Online transactions made via credit card are encrypted via SSL (secure socket layer) technology.

 

Cookies and Aggregate Information

Our website uses a technology called a "cookie". The cookie is a small piece of information that is temporarily stored on your computer. When you return to our site, your web browser passes the cookie from your computer back to our website. Cookies recall information you entered before so you don't have to reenter it again, keep track of items you put into your shopping cart, tell us what pages on the site you previously visited, and help us determine whether you came to the site from a particular internet link. At no time will the cookie reveal to others any personal information about you, including your name, address, or e-mail address even if you have submitted this information to other areas of the site.

Our website automatically logs information such as IP address and browser type of all visitors in order to measure the usage of our website. We use this information to analyze how visitors use our site, which helps us improve our visitors' experience.
